In-Kind Donation
In-kind donations reduce the YWCA Elgin’s overall expenses and help us to spend more of our funds on our programs. If you are interested in donating items check out our Program Wishlist. If you have an item that isn’t listed on the wishlist that you think we might like, call to the YWCA Elgin please call 847.742.7930 to be sure that we can accommodate it.

Special Event Sponsorship
Sponsoring a YWCA event or initiative is a wonderful way to support our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. We offer many opportunities for sponsorship throughout the year, including the Queen for a Day, YW Uncorked, and Leader Luncheon our signature fundraiser.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you are over 70 1/2 years old and subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), then you are able to use a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to make a donation to the YWCA Elgin directly from your IRA. This donation will count towards your RMD and reduce the taxable amount of your withdrawal. By having a check payable to YWCA Elgin, you will benefit our programs and reduce your adjusted gross income for the year.
If you choose to do this, please be sure to check with your tax preparer and remember to claim your contribution at tax time. The 1099 that you receive from your IRA custodian will show the total amount withdrawn; you must report the QCD separately to have it removed from your income for the year.
