You’re Invited to Queen for a Day 2023

Join the YWCA Elgin on August 12, 2023, from 11 am – 1 pm (check-in and kids activities begin at 10 am) at the Elgin Country Club for our annual “Queen for a Day” event. This glamorous event brings together mothers, daughters, grandmothers, and grandchildren for a morning full of fun. Event activities include live music, princesses, the crowning of the Royal Court, a parade of the Queens of the Past, a kid’s craft, a beauty parlor, a sing-a-long, raffles, tea, and a delicious brunch. The theme for 2023 is Queen Victoria’s Garden Party. This year’s event will include a guest appearance from Queen Victoria herself. Ellie Carlson of Ellie Presents will portray Queen Victoria.

Each adult reservation comes with a chance to become the “Queen for the Day” or one of three “Ladies-in-Waiting,” and each child reservation comes with a chance of being crowned the “Princess.” In addition to being crowned, each member of the Royal Court wins an extravagant gift basket full of prizes, including gift cards and jewelry.

All proceeds benefit the YWCA Elgin’s educational programs.

Registration

Reservations are $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 12 and under.

We ask that you please register before Sunday, August 6th. We cannot honor seating requests for reservations made after August 6th. All reservation sales are final; refunds will not be issued.

Sponsorship

Queen for a Day is one of the YWCA Elgin’s primary fundraising events. Funds from the event are used to develop and expand programming and advocacies for women and families’ economic self-sufficiency with a clear commitment to the elimination of racism and the empowerment of women.
