#GivingTuesday 2022
Move Mountains by Donating to the YWCA on #GivingTuesday
For over 120 years, the YWCA Elgin has been dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and families, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. This dedication can be found throughout our programming and advocacy efforts.
Many of the families we help face mountains of obstacles such as food insecurity, severe hardships, and despair. By donating on #GivingTuesday, you can move those mountains and provide hope and a better life for so many.
Our core programs at the YWCA Elgin are after-school child care, English as a Second Language, and Family Literacy. Our after-school care ensures that all children have equal access to a comprehensive, high-quality educational program that includes continuous developmental support. The YWCA Elgin’s English as a Second Language (ESL) classes empower adults improve their lives by increasing their English language knowledge. ESL classes include instruction on spoken language, writing, computers and tablets, group activities involving public issues, job readiness, basic health education, and information about money management. Our Family Literacy program provides ESL classes to adults while their children attend ESL preschool.
In addition to these core programs, we provide clothing for the needy, prom dresses for at-risk teens, immigration assistance, citizenship assistance, DACA renewals, workforce development training, and a summer camp for teens looking to express themselves using today’s technology. We encourage you to check out all our programs on our website www.ywcaelgin.org. We promise you’ll be impressed!
Please help us continue strengthening our community and caring for those who need our help by donating to the YWCA Elgin on #GivingTuesday, November 29th!
