Did you know that children who grow up in poverty are more likely to remain in poverty? At the YWCA Elgin we believe that education is the key to breaking that cycle. All 637 students at the YWCA Elgin, from preschoolers to adults, are given the tools, guidance and encouragement needed to help them achieve their goals. We have been able to offer these services because of donors like you!

You make more possible by providing the monetary support needed to continue running programs that are essential to our community. We hope that you will continue to help us break the cycle of poverty and give the families of the Elgin area a better future.

  • $50 can provide a child with preschool for one week. Children with a strong educational foundation are prepared for a lifetime of learning.

  • $100 can provide one week of after-school care for one child, this includes: homework help, transportation, leadership training, and educational projects that encourage discovery.

  • $250 can provide one week of adult basic education classes for ten students. Securing basic educational skills increases employability and job security.

  • $500 can provide a month of fuel to transport seventy School Age Child Care students to the YWCA Elgin where they will receive a healthy snack, homework help and get to play.

  • $1000 can provide a Workforce Development student with a month of career and technical training which will help them succeed in the workforce.

Your donation makes more possible! Thank you in advance for your support.
