Clothing Distribution Center
The YWCA Elgin recently inherited the Clothing Distribution Center(CDC) from Elgin Junior Service Board, which has official disbanded. The Clothing Distribution Center has been in existence since 1970. The CDC provides clothes for emergency needs, career apparel and every day clothes to those in need. The YWCA Elgin CDC serves clients referred by local schools, the Community Crisis Center and other local organizations.
Clothing Distribution Center Hours
The CDC is open the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 10:00am to 1:00pm for Women & Children and from 1:30pm - 2:30pm for men. Exceptions include holidays and school breaks (including summer break). Please refer to the calendar below.
Individuals looking to receive clothing from the CDC are required to bring their referral, provided by one of the participating organizations, and photo ID.
The CDC accepts gently worn, clean clothing donation. Please no ripped or stained clothing. Donations are accepted year round at the YWCA Elgin, 220 East Chicago Street, Elgin, IL 60120 Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm.
